Occupational therapy:
Our Occupational therapist focuses on assisting each student with his/her ability to interact with the environment. This could include working on daily life skills, perceptual motor skills, gross and fine motor skills and adaptive or compensatory skills. These skills should enable the child to function more fully in the academic environment.
Physical therapy:
Our Physical Therapist works with children on components of movement including:
Strength
Range of motion
Flexibility
Balance
Posture
Body mechanics
Coordination
Endurance
General mobility (walking, stair climbing, getting in and out of a chair)
Once a child has been evaluated, the Physical Therapist will develop a program unique to that child to help decrease their deficits and restore their function.
