About Mrs. Lamb ...

September,2012

This is my sixth year teaching at Murray Avenue School. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Temple University in May, 2007 with a BS in Elementary Education and Special Education.  I am also certified to teach Middle Level Math.  I am currently working on my Masters in Instructional Technology through Arcadia University, and will finish in the Fall 2012.  I am also a certified Wilson Reading System instructor.

I have taught 5th, 6th, and 8th grade learning support classes here at Murray Avenue. Prior to becoming an educator, I worked as an Administrative Assistant/ Executive Secretary for several local manufacturers.  After my twin daughters Rebecca and Stephanie were born in 1995, I became a full-time mother to them and their older sister, Rachel.  Rachel and her husband have blessed me with three beautiful grandchildren, two girls (Alyssa and Ava) and a boy (Bretty)!  As my youngest children entered school, I went back to college and finished my bachelor’s degree.  Teaching seemed like a logical career choice for me as I had been involved in my girls’ activities in and out of school for so many years, including twelve years as a Girl Scout leader.  I have always loved working with children and watching them grow and learn!

I also love animals, and have a Flat Coated Retriever named Blitz.  My family enjoys camping and we have traveled up and down the east cost from Maine to South Carolina in our trailer.  My dream is to go cross country camping some summer before my girls go off to college!

I am looking forward to the 2012-2013 school year, and I hope my students will have as much fun this year as I will!
