phone   Connect Ed Notification System

Keeping parents, teachers and administrators informed and involved helps to assure student safety and improve student success. With todays on-the-go lifestyles, it has become more difficult for schools to reach families quickly and effectively. This is why our school district has decided to utilize a system called Connect Ed.  Connect Ed is an essential tool for notification and communication. Within minutes of an emergency, school officials can use Connect Ed to deliver a single, clear message to parents or guardians by telephone. Connect Ed can also be used to notify of school closings or delays due to inclement weather. Information will continue to be communicated through our district Web page (www.lmtsd.org) , and local radio/television stations. Please understand that Connect Ed will be the vehicle through which we will communicate general announcements and any kind of emergency that could occur in any of our schools. It will not be used solely for school delays or closings.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Phone numbers used by Connect Ed for NON-EMERGENCIES  will be the students priority numbers/emails.  Examples on General Announcements include:
  • school announcements,
  • morning weather information,
  • broken water pipes,
  • no power
  • attendance
EMERGENCIES:
Phone numbers used by Connect Ed for EMERGENCIES  will be all phone numbers/emails on record for the student in the parent notification system. (i.e. all student"s priority numbers). Examples of Emergency calls include:
  • life-threatening situations,
  • emergencies that affect student safety
  • emergency closing of school during the day

Work numbers with extensions cannot be used with an automated system.  Be advised that emergency calls intended for parents whose places of employment utilize a receptionist/switchboard operator/automated system may not reach the parent, because the automated message is not personalized with the parent"s name.
